Living in Arizona I am inundated daily with news from local and national news sources about the “dangerous” southern border of the U.S. – ad nauseam. Yet, what is the largest, unsecured border to the U.S.? It may surprise some of you…it is our Northern border – yes, 5,000 +/– miles of unsecured border that is monitored by a U.S. border guard that has absolutely no way of guarding all of it vs 2,000 +/- Southern border.
In a report by Associated Press (AP) on Feb 15, 2011 it was noted that of the 5,000 +/- miles, only 32 of those miles are sufficiently guarded.
In a video on CBN.com News they do a report on that open border. Click here to view video. “It’s all part of the world’s longest international border, more than 5,500 miles shared with Canada. Much of the frontier is wilderness, making border security a monumental task.”
Beginning today, August 15, 2012,undocumented immigrants who were between the ages of 15 and 30 as of June 15th of this year, will be able to apply for deferred action.

In a statement, State Rep. Catherine Miranda called Governor Brewer’s actions “mean-spirited” and Rep. Martin Quezada, D-Phoenix said that these actions “demonize good kids who should be allowed to get state-issued identification and enter the workforce”.
